The Doors luego de tocar en un show sorpresa en 1978, para promover el disco “An american Prayer”, se alejó de los escenarios por casi 15 años, y no habían vuelto a tocar en vivo, hasta ahora. La banda es invitada a participar de este concierto llamado Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, junto a Eddie Vedder, el vocalista de Pearl Jam, en esta presentación sólo tocaron 3 temas, “RoadHouse Blues”, “Break On Through” y “Light My Fire”.Este video sólo incluye “Light My Fire”, en una muy buena versión y también incluye la presentación, en donde Eddie Vedder presenta a The Doors y también a la hermana de Jim Morrison, que está invitada en representación de él.
Excelente calidad, calidad de DVD, muy recomendado.
The Doors after playing a surprise show in 1978 to promote the album "An American Prayer", left the stage for almost 15 years and had not returned to playing live, so far. The band was invited to participate in this concert called Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, along with Eddie Vedder, the lead singer of Pearl Jam, in this presentation only played 3 songs, "Roadhouse Blues", "Break On Through" and "Light My Fire. "
This video only includes "Light My Fire" in a very good version and also includes the presentation, where Eddie Vedder features The Doors and also the sister of Jim Morrison, who is invited to represent him.
Excellent quality, DVD quality, highly recommended.

“Me gustaría que un día no dejáramos de tocar, que tocáramos todo aquello que sabemos: blues, canciones de Elvis, canciones de rock viejas, todo aquello que nos gusta, seguramente tocaríamos por horas” Jim MorrisonLuego del concierto de Baskerfield, The Doors se prepara para tocar en la ciudad de San Diego, el cual será uno de los conciertos más extraños de los cuales se recuerda hasta ahora. El concierto
se inicia con una improvisación poética de Jim, luego caía el primer cover de la noche, Jim Morrison interpretando con el alma “Carol”, una versión Rock and rollera de un tema de “Chuck Berry”, uno de los pioneros del rock.
Lo que se viene es “Louie Louie” de “Richard Berry”, tema que a muchas otras bandas les gustaba tocar, sin duda todo un clásico, The Doors lo solía incluir en sus primeras presentaciones de 1965, sin embargo luego fue sacado lamentablemente del repertorio habitual. No sería loco afirmar que esta presentación tiene gusto ha alguno de sus primeros shows.
Luego es el turno para la ópera rock de la banda “The Celebration Of The lizard” que les encantaba tocarla en vivo, incluyendo muchas liricas, versión muy buena con un final muy melancólico. Lo que sigue es un momento clave, la banda interpretando “Heartbreak Hotel” de Elvis Presley's, una de las grandes influencias de Jim Morrison, gran momento de Jim Elvis, conectándose con sus raíces. Todo revienta con el último tema, cae la nostalgia y la emoción con las primeras notas de “Light My Fire”, versión potente incluyendo muchas improvisación y liricas, desde “fever”.
Jim Morrison haciendo de las suyas, cantando las canciones que escuchaba, antes que él escribiera su propia música, la banda desbordando mucha energía, Jim Morrison hablando con el público y bromeando, con muchas improvisaciones y grandes versiones.

Ray y Robby visitarán Sudamérica este 2011
Ray Manzarek y Robby Krieger arribarán a Sudamérica este 16 marzo a la ciudad de La Paz en Bolivia, agregando esta única fecha en Sudamérica hasta ahora, se abrió este nuevo concierto por caerse una de las fechas en México.
El concierto en la Capital de Bolivia se realizaría en el Teatro al Aire Libre, Jaime Laredo aunque si existe una gran demanda el show probablemente se trasladará al estadio Hernando Siles, el mayor centro deportivo de la ciudad.
La banda nos presentará su nuevo proyecto, que vienen girando desde el 2010 con un nuevo vocalista Miljenko Matijevic, ex vocalista de la banda Steelheart, pero al parecer en esta gira volvería a la formación Brett Scallions en las voces.
Con esta nueva fecha en Sudamérica confirmada en el calendario oficial, se abre la esperanza que puedan abrir aún más fechas en otros países Sudamericanos.
