The Doors - 10/11/1968 Minneapolis, Minneappolis Concert Hall
Versos improvisados durante Back Door Man dedicados para las chicas que se encontraban en el Minneappolis Concert Hall: "Little girl you looking fine, make me wanna draw the line, little girl yeah, yeah, lookin' fine, yeah!, fuck me babe, fuck me girl, suck my COCK honey, around the world yeah! Ahhhahhahaahhaa!". This is an old blues song. Howlin Wolf wrote it and thank you. Well I think he wrote it so thank you." con el sarcasmo que le caracterizaba, luego al terminar encara al público diciendo " esto es democracia, uds. primero... sexo democrático".
Luego Wild Child y Money de forma perfecta, una larga improvisación en Love me Two Times, me imagino lo aburrido que estaba Jim en tan largo solo de armónica (Jim odiaba el solo de Light my Fire) y lanza el sigte. verso: "Throw hands around my cock. Throw legs around my neck! gonna love that girl, all night long. All right! .
I hate to end my song, I love you all night long, I hate to end my song, love you all night long". Su ánimo decae en Light my Fire y era obvio, Jim era difícil que aguantase 4 conciertos seguidos, el se entregaba por completo, pensando que siempre podía ser el último, pero a veces esto le pasaba la cuenta. Bueno amigos esto es una JOYAAA y sé que lo sabrán valorar. Un trago y a disfrutar!!!! JOMO.
Set List:
1. Soul Kitchen
2. Break On Through
3. When The Music's Over
4. Back Door Man
5. Little Red Rooster
6. Wild Child
7. Money
8. Love Me Two Times
9. Light My Fire
DOORSIANOS! I'VE BEEN WORKING ON THE BLOG IN SILENT ARRANGING THE LINK, BUT IT WAS TIME FOR A NEW CONTRIBUTION. MINNEAPOLIS 1968, CONCERT, UFFF, VERY DIFFICULT TO DESCRIBE. THE BAND RETURNS FROM EUROPE AND A MINI-TOUR BEGINS ON OCTOBER 31 IN LOUISVILLE AND ENDING ON NOVEMBER 10 IN MINNEAPOLIS, WERE ENGAGED FULLY IN THE SOFT PARADE AND WE ALL KNOW THE LEVEL OF TENSION THAT HAD AT THAT TIME, THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS INVEST IN THE ALBUM AND JIM WANTED TO LEAVE THE BAND TO THE HEAVY PRESSURES OF PAMELA. JIM FELT VERY TIRED AND WAS VERY DRUNK, SOUL KITCHEN AND BREAK ON THROUGH, GRUDGING INTERPRETATION, I GUESS JIM LEANING ON THE PEDESTAL OF MIC. SMOKING AND ROCKING, BUT EVERYTHING STARTS TO CHANGE IN WHEN THE MUSIC'S OVER AND THE ARRIVAL OF TONY GLOVER ON HARMONICA FROM BACK DOOR MAN, IT WAS AS IF JIM WAS AWAKE. IMPROVISED VERSES FOR BACK DOOR MAN DEDICATED TO GIRLS WHO WERE IN THE CONCERT HALL MINNEAPPOLIS: "LITTLE GIRL YOU LOOKING FINE, MAKE ME WANT TO DRAW THE LINE, LITTLE GIRL YEAH, YEAH, LOOKIN 'FINE, YEAH!, FUCK ME BABE, FUCK ME GIRL, SUCK MY COCK HONEY, AROUND THE WORLD YEAH! AHHHAHHAHAAHHAA! ". AS ALWAYS PEOPLE CALLING AND CRYING ISSUES THEY WANTED TO HEAR, BUT BEFORE LITTLE RED ROOSTER, JIM INTRODUCES IT BY SAYING: "THIS IS AN OLD BLUES SONG. HOWLIN WOLF WROTE IT AND THANK YOU.
WELL I THINK HE WROTE IT SO THANK YOU. "WITH HIS CHARACTERISTIC SARCASM, THEN AT THE END FACING THE PUBLIC SAYING" THIS IS DEMOCRACY, PC. FIRST ... DEMOCRATIC SEX. WILD CHILD AND THEN SEAMLESSLY MONEY, A LONG IMPROVISATION ON LOVE ME TWO TIMES, I IMAGINE HOW BORING IT WAS JIM'S SUCH A LONG HARMONICA SOLO (JIM HATED THE SINGLE LIGHT MY FIRE) AND LAUNCHES THE SIGTE. VERSE: "THROW HANDS AROUND MY COCK. THROW LEGS AROUND MY NECK! GONNA LOVE THAT GIRL, ALL NIGHT LONG. ALL RIGHT! I HATE TO END MY SONG, I LOVE YOU ALL NIGHT LONG, I HATE TO END MY SONG, LOVE YOU ALL NIGHT LONG. "HIS SPIRITS FELL IN LIGHT MY FIRE AND IT WAS OBVIOUS JIM WAS DIFFICULT TO PUT UP WITH 4 CONCERTS IN A ROW, IS DELIVERED IN FULL, THINKING THEY COULD ALWAYS BE THE LAST, BUT SOMETIMES THIS WAS WRONG ACCOUNT. WELL THIS IS A JOYAAA FRIENDS AND I KNOW YOU WILL APPRECIATE. ONE DRINK AND ENJOY!! JOMO.

RAY MANZAREK THESE SHOWS ACCLAIMED AS A RETURN TO THE EARLY DAYS OF THE GROUP, WHEN THEY PLAYED AT A CLUB CALLED LONDON FOG. "I MEAN, BACK TO BASICS. WE USED TO DO FOUR SET IN A NIGHT AT THE LONDON FOG, AND HAD ONLY A SMALL AMOUNT OF SONGS WRITTEN SO FAR. SO FAR WE HAD TO INTERPRET OTHER PEOPLE'S MATERIAL. WE WILL PLAY WHATEVER WE WANT, JUST HAVE TO DO IT! " AND HE DID. 02 August 1968, Flushing Meadows Park, Singer Bowl, Queens, NY
The Doors headline with opening act The Who. Jim's limo driver gets lost before the show in the traffic of the crowd and the limo is mobbed by fans. Jim gets out and the fans go crazy grabbing his clothes and hair forcing items, necklaces, etc. into his hands. He finally makes it backstage and decides to take a walk around the arena. He gets 10 yards down the hallway and is swarmed by hundreds of fans and is forced to go backstage. The Who refuses to play with The Doors equipment on stage during their set. They get there way and go on but the rotating stage gets stuck and a quarter of the restless crowd cannot see the band furiating many of the audience. They finish the set smashing their equipment and the crowd is roaring. Pete Townsend walks off telling The Doors people that the crowd is ready to explode!
The Doors wait 30 minutes and finally take the stage with Jim waiting even longer as the others jam. Jim comes out swarmed by security and his film crew. The fans who cannot see begin to storm the stage and are thwarted back by security. Jim is animated and growls songs while dancing and gyrating, hopping and twirling in a shamanic tide often rapping obscenities during breaks and between songs. The crowd is hot and Jim is in rare form. The tension builds with each song, each chant, each movement. Jim and the audience are one. He feels there emotions boiling and slowly turns up the heat. Jim throws himself down on the stage and crawls around on his belly driven by the music, the crowd, and his demons. The Doors finish with "The End" and as Jim sings the last note, falling back on the stage, the crowd as if being pulled back like an arrow, as if on cue, suddenly erupt and thunderously rush the stage. The crowd overtakes the stage and begins smashing the bands equipment. The riot rages on for over an hour with the band backstage drinking. Many fans are injured, hospitalized or arrested.
